“Triple Net” Superyacht Sold By Atlantic Yacht & Ship and Northrop & Johnson

Tuesday, December 6th, 2011

You may have spotted Atlantic Yacht & Ship’s impressive 80-foot Hatteras Motor Yacht, Triple Net at the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show this past October. This impressive superyacht was built in 1990 and can accommodate up to 10 guests in five staterooms. Owned by Wes Sanford, this beauty has been immaculately maintained by a full-time crew, and was recently sold together by Northrop & Johnson and Mack Carroll of Atlantic Yacht & Ship with an asking price of $595,000.

Triple Net features a customized interior, as well as an added cockpit. Twin Detroit Diesel engines power this vessel, and underwent a complete in-frame overhaul roughly 3 years ago. The master stateroom and one of the guest staterooms are located below deck, aft of the engine room, and the aft guest may also be used as an office for the busy, traveling business professional. The forward stateroom features over/under berths, and because Triple Net has been meticulously maintained by the captain, this stateroom has been used by the crew. Step below the deck into the gorgeous VIP Stateroom and additional Guest Stateroom.

AY&S Offers Trade for Boat Berth in Beautiful Port Vauban

Tuesday, November 8th, 2011

Port Vauban is a world-renowned harbor in Antibes on the French Riviera where super yachts gather. Home to more than 100 berths over 75 feet in length, Europe’s largest harbor attracts jet-set crowds from all over the world. Antibes itself is a premier yachting destination, with its elegant French restaurants, cafes, festivals and other unique entertainment.

Surrounded by all types of boating facilities, Port Vauban features berthing alongside and stern-to and an on-site heliport right by the “Billionaire’s Quay.” One of the largest private and public marinas along the Cote d’Azur, it is a very attractive base for boat and yacht owners. Port Vauban is easily accessible from Nice Airport by road, and on the other side of the Cap d’Antibes lays the Bay of Cannes.

But this historic harbor offers more than convenience – Port Vauban dates back as early as 500 BC, when it was used as a base of trade for Greek merchants. Centuries of history lend a novel appeal to this popular port.

Atlantic Yacht & Ship’s Italy-based Mark Meyer currently has a client interested in trading a boat berth in Port Vauban with a 61-foot Sunseeker or similar vessel. If you are interested in exploring Port Vauban and Antibes, you won’t want to miss your opportunity to take advantage of this amazing deal. Contact Mark today by calling 305-677-9137. London’s Harrods Sells Superyachts

Tuesday, May 17th, 2011

Superyachts are hitting department stores? This May, the famously extravagant, Harrods of London is featuring models, images and vessel details of a selection of beautiful yachts for sale. So while guests browse designer clothing, fine china and delectable edibles, they will also get a sneak peek at some of the most luxuriant megayachts in the market.

“Harrods continuously aims to provide its customers with new and exclusive products,” said Guy Cheston, the director of advertising sales and sponsorship for the department store, to Megayacht News. “With this spectacular range of boats now available to purchase in store, we have surpassed all expectations.”

The yachts for sale include the Kestrel 106, a 106-foot, $10.7 million-dollar wonder, with a large deck saloon and raised relaxation. Another beauty is the 295-foot Fincantieri Project Mars, boasting six decks and a hefty price tag of $163 million. In fact, if this yacht finds an owner, she will be the most expensive item Harrods has ever sold in the department store’s illustrious history.

The concept behind the Harrods showcase is to make boat buying more accessible.

“We wanted to create a virtual Monaco at Harrods,” said Capt. Adrian McCourt, managing director of Watkins Superyachts, a London-based brokerage house. “There are many potential charterers and purchasers who may not wish to travel to established yacht shows but would rather meet with our expert team to discuss potential options without jargon or hard selling.”

Miami Boat Show Results & a New Option for Customs at the U.S. Virgin Islands

Tuesday, March 1st, 2011

Atlantic Yacht and Ship is pleased to announce that the 2011 Yacht and Brokerage show in Miami Beach was a success. The weekend brought beautiful weather and a good turnout of attendees. Kim Cuadrado, Sales Support for Atlantic, said “It went well. We had a steady amount of traffic and several of our guys have deals pending that they wrote up at the show.” Overall, this year’s event was a positive sign that the economy is starting to pick up and that qualified yacht buyers are feeling more confident about investing.

In other recent news, last week there was an exciting announcement for all those island hoppers out there about online reporting to USVI port, U.S. Virgin Islands. The option for United States citizens and legal residents to report their arrival to the port by phone has been in effect since 2006, and now it is going a step further with online reporting. Those enrolled in the LBO, Local Boaters Option program, can now use the Small Vessel Reporting System online feature to check in their arrival to the U.S. Virgin Islands port. This new application will cut down on waiting time to clear customs, and surely provide more convenience for a leisurely visit to the islands.

The LBO is a great new program, and enrollment is voluntary and free. One must complete a background check and make an appointment for an in-person interview with the U.S. Customs and Boarder Protection office. Those who are already in the LBO must apply online for a password to access the float plan function of the Small Vessel Reporting System. For more information, click here.
