Trinity Yachts to Unveil ‘Mi Sueño’ at Fort Lauderdale Boat Show

Tuesday, October 12th, 2010

Trinity Yachts, a US-based luxury builder of custom super yachts, is debuting their 33-foot custom motor yacht at Fort Lauderdale’s annual International Boat Show.

Making its first appearance at Trinity’s Gulfport shipyard in New Orleans, the Mi Sueño motor yacht features a 59m semi-displacement aluminum hull. Luxurious design elements include the aft entrance, uniquely designed for dual use as a custom wine cellar with a capacity for over 400 bottles. This opulent addition is wrapped in bronze, with glass wine refrigerators just above cigar humidors made of robust wormwood. The foyer spares no expense, with toppled marble mosaic flooring, sage leather benches and end tables made with petrified wood.

The interior design of this impressive vessel was done by the renowned yacht and custom aircraft design team at Patrick Knowles Design. Described as “urban contemporary with overtones of Zen,” Patrick Knowles creates a tony environment while maintaining an earthy ambiance. A variety of gorgeous natural woods line the interior of Mi Sueño – Honduran mahogany, Australian lancewood, European maple burl and wenge from the Belgian Congo were used in the construction of the salon and dining area alone.

Off of the dining room you will find the split-level master suite. Featuring seven staterooms, this luxury motor yacht boasts a wheelchair-accessible room, as well as specially-equipped massage and exercise spaces.

Come view the unveiling of this extraordinary motor yacht at the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show, being held from October 28th to November 1st.  Atlantic Yacht and Ship offers hundreds of new and used boats and yachts, including Trinity Yachts. Broward County Dredging Projects Slated for 2011

Tuesday, September 21st, 2010

For several years, the Florida Inland Navigation District has been working to obtain permits for three dredging projects along the waterways of Broward County, Florida. The opened waterways will allow for passage of larger yachts, giving South Florida’s marine industry a boost.

The Inland Navigation District is close to attaining the paperwork for the first project slated for 2011. The project will create a 17-foot deep path along the Dania Cut-Off Canal, on a one-mile stretch from Port Everglades to US1. The $5 millions project is expected to take 6 months to complete. Once completed, the waterway will allow passage of boats up to 200 feet.

The second project will involve a 17-foot dredging of the Intracoastal Waterway, from 17th Street Causeway in Fort Lauderdale to the Las Olas Bridge. The project, slated for late 2011, covers two miles and will cost around $10 million.

Finally, the third dredging project will take place on the New River spanning from west of I-95 heading north to I-595. The three dredging projects will make Broward’s waterways more mega yacht-friendly, serving as a welcome economic boost to South Florida and greatly benefitting marinas in Fort Lauderdale.

Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show Expected to Be Stronger This Year

Tuesday, August 17th, 2010

The Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show is the city’s biggest nautical event of the year, coming up October 28 to November 1. Efrem “Skip” Zimbalist, president and CEO of Show Management, the company sponsoring the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show, says he expects the event to be stronger this year than last.

Yacht brokerage is leading the way in the marine industry’s economic recovery, with more realistic asking prices, which are generating higher sales volume, says Zimbalist. The Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show will be the key event of the year for generating sales.

The CEO of Show Management also said that early August advance ticket sales and exhibitor space for the boat show are a little above compared to last year at this time. The company is aggressively marketing the event in 16 countries, with an emphasis on Russia and Latin America this year.

In an effort to make the Fort Lauderdale Boat Show a sustainable event, Show Management is partnering with Native Energy to offset the event’s carbon footprint through renewable energy projects.

With high hopes for the boat show this year, Atlantic Yacht and Ship is a yacht brokerage in Fort Lauderdale that offers new and used boats for sale.
