Nano-technology made this innovative additive possible; with an active ingredient of cerium dioxide that is 2.5 nanometers, it adheres to a petroleum-based solution for introduction into the fuel supply of the vessel. It is a highly reactive solution that renews the oxygen particles during the combustion cycle about 100 million times. This redistributes the oxygen, allowing the fuel to be absorbed more thoroughly.
The benefits of using G02 include lowering overall fuel costs and cutting down on harmful emissions such as CO and NO2. The solution also increases lubricity, which limits engine wear. Cerion Energy’s data reports that fuel efficiency will increase by 7 to 13 percent, while also decreasing soot by 30 percent. There is plenty of financial support for the research and development of new ways to cut costs and save energy in the marine industry.
